Friday, September 13th was Sea View School’s annual honey extraction. Only one of our three hives had a honey super that we could extract from this year, however next fall we are hoping for double the honey after capturing a swarm this year.
Each student had a chance to spin some honey out of the frames and the end result looks delicious.
Sea View School will have a limited amount of honey available for sale at the community Christmas craft fair in November. There will also be honey for sampling at our Honey Bee Fair in May and are hoping to plan a small honey auction fundraiser at some point this year as well.
